“The AUD and NZD are both up +0.2% in the absence of any market moving data and no firm offshore leads with UK and US markets out yesterday. That said the USD continues its general advance, the DXY +0.6%, thanks largely to a weaker EUR, down 0.3%, currently sitting on its 50d moving average. Also the Yen is trading at its weakest levels for the day, off 0.2% at ¥121.80.”

“Fixed income is mixed -US 10yrs are 1.5bps lower in yield, ACGBs are unchanged while NZGBs are 1bp higher in yield.”

“Equities are generally firmer. Japanese indices are close to unchanged and China centric indices are outperforming with the SHCOMP +1.5%, HSCEI +3%, Aus +0.8%.”

GBP/USD trades below 1.5450

The US dollar has been bid higher across the board in the Asian session on Tuesday, pushing the GBP/USD pair to an intraday low of 1.5430, before a minor recovery ensured the pair made its way back to 1.5445 levels.
